Sundown Sound

      Hi!  My name is Steve Treadaway, I have been using my computer to digitally transfer my record collection since 1999.  I have had several disc jockeys play them on the radio and had them give me thumbs up on the transfers.  Several years ago I wanted to compare my work with a local company and had them convert one of my vinyl records to CD.  First I was impressed with the nice shrink wrapping of my vinyl album and the fancy label that they had created for the CD.  As I began to hear the CD it became apparent to me that they had just recorded my record to the CD.  They may have taken out a little hiss and divided the tracks into individual songs like I would have expected, but to me it wasn't a recording that I would listen to again.  

        I have decided to offer my skill for hire.  I will convert your record or tapes to CD for you for the price of $20.00 per album  This may seem like a lot but it takes over two hours to run my filters and actually listen to the tracks for ticks, pops and hiss.  I can't work miracles on records that were not taken care of, meaning not kept in their sleeves, or stacked on top of one another like a mile high sandwich.  If you have taken reasonable care of your records I can make them into something you will listen to again.  I recommend that you make backup copies of the CD's or store the songs on your hard drive, there are differing stories as to the lifespan of a CD will be.  

        I won't promise fancy packaging, although I will make a cover for the CD case and make a back sleeve with the track listing and musicians if you wish.  I prefer not to use stick on labels on the CD itself.  My belief is that if you are really interested in the music then that is where I want to spend my production time.  Contact me, Steve Treadaway - 843-655-1469 or send me an e-mail and I will be glad to make your music enjoyable again!
